Isle of Wight County Real Estate Update

P. D. Gwaltney House - Smithfield, VA Historic HomeThe Smithfield and Isle of Wight County Residential Real Estate market is making slow but steady improvements. Home sales in the county are up 7% this year compared with 2013. Last year 338 homes sold through October 2013 versus the uptick in sales this year to 362 in the same period. Although the increase is modest it it significant that there are fewer homes on the market this year. As the homes for sale inventory is reduced it should encourage those that have been waiting on the sidelines for the market to improve to jump in. As of September 2014 Average time on the market for residential homes in Isle of Wight County dropped from 9.78 months in 2013 to 7.49 2014. This confirms that buyers are seeking great property value, low taxes and quality of life available in Smithfield and Isle of Wight.
